"Live Burn" Event

SERVPRO of NW Portland helps clean up debris after burn event.

LP Building Products, along with Portland Fire & Rescue and SERVPRO of NW Portland conducted a Live Burn demonstration at Colwood Golf Center in Portland on October 13, 2016.  The purpose of the demonstration was to show a side-by-side comparison of LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing vs. regular OSB sheathing.  The demonstration highlights the superior qualities of LP® FlameBlock® Fire-Rated OSB Sheathing which is ICC-certified, has a Class A and 30-Minute Flame Spread Rating (ASTM E84, UL 723), combines flame-spread resistance and burn-through resistance and has 15-Minute Thermal Barrier Protection (UBC 26-2).

Portland Fire & Rescue was in charge of conducting, monitoring and completing the burn and utilized the opportunity as a training exercise.  SERVPRO of NW Portland, a leading provider of Fire Damage Restoration, was asked to participate in the burn event and assist in the cleanup and disposal of the charred remnants of the two structures after the demonstration was finished.  Despite the rainy weather, many LP clients and members of the property insurance industry were in attendance to view the demonstration.
